As part of my research I’ve been reading about French photographer Jacques Henri Lartigue. His most well recognised works are the ‘frozen moments’, with his subjects captured jumping in mid air. I also enjoyed coming across photos of his brother Zissou’s experiments. Lartigue also had studied painting and said ‘I have two pairs of eyes, one to paint and one to take photographs’. Lartigue donated his entire collection of photographs, cameras and journals to France. His journals contained personal entries about his life, information about artists he was inspired by as well as sketches and documenting the ideas process for his photos. What Lartigue has left behind can inspire all us photographers to document and share our ideas 🙂
